How are the connections arranged?
The Y-piece has two branch connections and one leg connection. Most versions use the same AN size across all three connections, while a mixed-size configuration is also available.
What does a larger AN connection on the leg mean?
The mixed-size version uses two smaller matching branch connections and a larger AN connection on the leg. This allows a larger line to be split into two smaller branches, or two smaller lines to be combined into a larger connection.
How do the AN connections seal?
Each male AN connection uses a JIC 37° male cone flare which seals against the corresponding female flare on a compatible AN fitting or hose end.
Do the AN threads require thread sealant?
No. The connection seals at the mating 37° flare rather than on the thread, so thread sealant should not be used to create the fluid seal.
