Left Fitting

Our stainless steel hose and stainless steel fittings are built to last a lifetime. We're so confident in their durability that we offer a lifetime warranty on all custom braided lines.

Banjo and fixed fittings remain rigid, while the nut or union on swivel fittings rotates independently of the hose, making installation easier.

To start, select a fitting type and the available size and angle options will be shown below.

Hose Length

Use the vertical lines on the diagram to calculate the length. Measure from seat to seat, except for banjo fittings, which are measured from the center of the banjo eye.

The length tolerance is ±5mm.

Hose Colour

Choose the colour of the protective wipe-clean PVC coating that's bonded to the stainless steel braided hose. Detailed braided hose specifications can be found below.

Heatshrink optional

For a stealth look, we can cover the ends of the line with a black heatshrink.

If you plan to adjust the orientation of the fittings, select 'Not Shrunk' to avoid damaging the heatshrink when gripping the ends of the line. Once the fittings are aligned, you can shrink them on yourself.

Hose Purpose

For car caliper applications, we add a protective black rubber boot around the ends of the line, which offers extra protection during flexing. If you've selected the stealth heatshrink option, this boot will replace it.

FAQ
  • Do custom stainless steel braided brake lines improve braking?

Our custom braided brake lines have a strong PTFE core which is wrapped in multiple layers of stainless steel braiding. Then to finish, the stainless steel braid is coated in a durable, wipe-clean PVC coating. This 3-layer hose design greatly reduces expansion under pressure, ensuring consistent and precise braking, even when braking hard.

Rubber brake hoses get spongy and soft over time, so they can expand during hard braking, which often results in them feeling sluggish. Our pre-made brake lines stay strong for a lifetime.

  • Are your custom made brake hoses covered by a lifetime warranty?

Yes, our custom brake hoses include a lifetime warranty. This lifetime warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship. You will not find a better hose warranty elsewhere.

  • Can I return or exchange my custom brake lines?

Yes, we offer a 100-day hassle-free returns policy for custom brake lines. We know mistakes can happen and we want to make sure you are completely satisfied. However, please double-check your brake hoses before ordering to avoid any silly mistakes, it does cost us to replace them!

  • How to make custom stainless steel brake lines?

Our custom brake hose builder makes designing your own hoses a breeze. Simply choose your hose fittings, followed by thread size and angle. Then choose your braided hose colour and add a maximum of three supports or brackets on each hose. Finally, choose your hose length and we'll start assembling your hoses as soon as we receive your order.

  • How do I measure custom brake hoses?

The easiest way to measure your custom brake hoses is with a piece of flexible wire or sturdy string. Make sure you go around all objects and follow all curves to make sure you don't measure the hose too tight, or the hose will be stretched when you fit it. You need to measure from the ends of male or female fittings and from the center hole of banjo fittings. Refer to the two vertical lines on the hose builder diagram when building your hoses.

When measuring custom brake lines for a motorcycle, make sure the wheel is off the ground so the suspension is fully extended.

  • Will these custom steel braided brake lines improve brake pedal or brake lever feel?

If you're replacing rubber brake hoses for stainless steel braided brake hoses, you will likely notice a big improvement in brake pedal or brake lever firmness and braking will be sharper. Perform a complete brake fluid change at the same time for the biggest improvement.

  • Where are your custom stainless steel brake fittings made?

Our custom brake hose fittings are machined from raw stainless steel in the United Kingdom. The fittings are manufactured from high-quality raw stainless steel bar. By keeping production local, we can keep a close eye on quality control. These are truly custom brake lines made in the UK.

  • How are your custom brake fittings attached to the hose?

We use an industrial swaging machine to crimp the fittings to the stainless steel hose. Once we've crimped the fittings to the brake hose, they won't be coming off! We've even seen a motorcycle crash where the only thing keeping the wheel attached to the motorbike were the hoses! We've noticed inferior custom brake lines that use reusable fittings, which aren't road legal in the UK.

  • Are your custom stainless steel braided brake lines road legal?

Yes, our custom braided brake lines are certified for use worldwide, meaning you can use them on any road around the globe. Please take a look at the certification section below, where you'll find a complete list of our global certifications and compliance standards.

  • How do I maintain and clean custom made brake hoses?

Our custom brake lines are made with rust-resistant stainless steel and are coated in a wipe-clean PVC coating, requiring minimal maintenance. To keep them in optimal condition, occasionally spray them with your favourite degreaser and wipe the hoses down with a clean cloth. Other than cleaning the brake hoses, they're virtually maintenance-free.

  • Are your made to measure brake line kits compatible with my vehicle?

Our pre-made brake hoses are compatible with all cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles. If you need assistance when building your hoses, please contact us. We have a database containing specifications for over 10,000 cars and motorcycles. We also have 15+ years of experience in manufacturing braided brake hoses, we've seen it all!

  • Are your custom braided brake hoses suitable for track use?

Our custom brake lines been tested and trusted at the highest levels of motorsport, including British Touring Cars, Drift Masters, British Superbikes and the Superbike World Championship.

  • Do your custom braided brake lines come with any installation instructions or support?

We don't provide installation instructions as these are made to measure brake hoses, intended to be installed by a professional or competent person. If you run into any issues during installation, please contact us, and we'll be happy to offer advice.

  • Do I need to bleed my brakes after installing braided brake lines?

Yes, when replacing brake lines, whether they're custom stainless steel braided hoses or rubber hoses, you will always need to bleed the brake system. We recommend making a complete brake fluid change at the same time. Even with a bog standard DOT 3 or 4 fluid, you should notice a significant braking improvement when fitting stainless brake lines. Our custom braided brake hoses are compatible with all brake fluids, including DOT 5.1 or specialised racing brake fluids like Motul RBF600 or Motul RBF660.

  • How often should you replace rubber brake hoses?

We recommend that you replace rubber brake hoses every 5 years. Although, you should check regularly for any cracks, bulges or leaks as they might need replacing before then. When you replace rubber brake hoses with our stainless steel hoses, you shouldn't have to replace them ever again. However, we still recommend that you make regular checks on the custom brake lines like you would with any other vehicle component.

  • Why upgrade to custom stainless steel brake lines?

If you're looking for a reliable upgrade to improve your braking system, custom stainless steel brake lines are an excellent, affordable choice. By replacing tired rubber hoses with high-quality stainless braided lines, you'll benefit from greater braking consistency, durability, and enhanced braking performance in all driving conditions.

  • Why don't stainless steel brake lines come as standard on a vehicle?

Actually, when maximum braking performance is needed, some performance cars and motorcycles do have stainless steel braided lines as standard. Most of the time, it's a cost-cutting exercise from the manufacturer when braking performance isn't a huge issue. Brand new rubber brake hoses do the job for a while, but they wear down over time so they're a serviceable item, just like brake pads.

  • Why might I need custom brake lines?
    • Brake caliper upgrades or conversions

Custom length brake lines ensure proper fitment when upgrading or changing brake calipers. Brembo and Wilwood caliper conversions are some of the most popular conversions we make hoses for. We can make custom brake hoses for all types of big brake kits.

    • Motorcycle handlebar changes

When changing motorcycle handlebars, especially to higher or wider bars, extended brake lines are often required to ensure a proper fit. Our build your own motorcycle brake line kits do the job.

    • Offroad or 4x4 lift kits

Lift kits can leave standard rubber brake hoses stretched as they become too short with the lift. Custom brake line kits, made with extra length, provide the flexibility needed for the lift. The increased durability of stainless steel brake lines make them a sensible upgrade for off-road and 4x4 vehicles.

    • Discontinued parts

For older vehicles, it's common for the manufacturer to discontinue brake hoses which make them hard to find, and we definitely don't recommend buying used rubber hoses! Custom flexible brake lines offer an ideal replacement, ensuring your vehicle remains roadworthy, and in most cases, our stainless hoses outperform the original rubber hoses in every single way.

    • Cheaper than rubber

Our custom braided brake lines are often more cost-effective than traditional rubber hoses. With the added benefits of better performance and durability, this makes custom made brake hoses the obvious choice.

    • Motorcycle suspension upgrades

Suspension upgrades or modifications often require alterations to the length or routing of the brake hoses to accommodate the new setup. Custom length motorcycle brake lines ensure a perfect fit for any suspension upgrade.

    • Drifting lock kits or hydraulic handbrakes

When adding a steering lock kit like Wisefab, you will more than likely need extended brake lines to accommodate the new angle of lock. If you're modifying a car for drifting, you'll need a hydro handbrake system too. Our custom brake lines are ideal for hydraulic handbrake lines as we can make custom lines up to 5 metres long with all the appropriate fittings and threads for your hydraulic handbrake.

    • Removing the ABS

When removing the ABS from a car or motorcycle, you'll probably need some ABS delete lines to suit. Whether you want to replace just the ABS lines or fully replace the entire brake system with braided brake hoses, we've got the lines to suit. If you're removing the ABS on a car, you'll probably need some t-pieces and clips and clamps too.

  • What is AN3?

AN3 is a hose size that's most suited to braking systems and the size we use for all our custom brake lines. Compared with original rubber brake hoses, you might be wondering why our hose has got a smaller external diameter, this is because we don't need overly thick rubber to keep hose expansion down. The high-performance PTFE core and stainless steel braiding on our custom brake hoses do a much better job than rubber so the materials don't have to be as thick.

  • Do you offer custom brake line kits for classic or vintage vehicles?

Yes! We can manufacture custom brake hoses for classic and vintage vehicles, even if the original parts are no longer available.

  • Can I use stainless steel braided brake lines with ABS?

Yes, our custom brake hoses are compatible with ABS-equipped vehicles. However, when fitting new hoses to an ABS system, it's important to bleed the brakes properly to remove any air, as ABS modules can be sensitive to trapped air pockets.

  • Do you offer motorcycle brake lines made to measure?

Yes! We specialise in motorcycle brake lines made to measure, ensuring a perfect fit for any bike, whether it's a custom build, a classic restoration, or a high-performance track bike. Our custom motorcycle braided brake lines are designed to withstand the toughest conditions while providing a firm, consistent brake feel.

  • Do I need extended motorcycle brake lines if I change my handlebars?

Yes! If you've fitted higher or wider handlebars, your stock hoses may become too short. Our made to measure motorcycle brake lines are the ideal solution, allowing you to customise the length to match your new setup. This ensures proper fitment and maintains optimal brake performance without putting stress on the brake hoses.

  • Are braided brake lines better for motorcycles?

Yes, custom motorcycle brake lines are generally considered a superior upgrade for motorcycles. The stainless steel braid surrounding the PTFE core significantly reduces hose expansion under pressure, providing a more consistent and responsive brake feel. This is especially noticeable during aggressive braking or track use.

Rubber brake hoses can degrade over time, leading to a spongy brake feel. Custom motorcycle brake hoses maintain their performance for much longer, making them ideal for riders who want precision, safety and durability from their braking system.

  • What are the benefits of stainless steel braided brake lines on a motorcycle?

Custom motorcycle brake lines offer several benefits for motorcycles, including improved braking response, longer lifespan, and resistance to abrasion and weather damage. They also reduce brake fade by keeping braking performance consistent even when the system is under stress.

Whether you're commuting, touring, or riding on track, upgrading your motorcycle brake lines to braided brake lines is one of the most cost-effective ways to enhance braking performance and safety on your motorbike.

  • Can you make custom clutch lines as well?

Yes, we can manufacture custom braided clutch lines using the same high-quality materials as our custom brake hoses. If you need a replacement or upgraded clutch line, use our custom clutch hose builder to build your clutch hose.

  • Can I buy banjo bolts, adapters, and other accessories for my custom brake lines?

We offer a full range of brake hose accessories to compliment your custom brake hoses.

  • Can I replace my entire brake system, including hard lines, with braided hoses?

Yes! It's fine to replace the entire brake system, including hard lines, with stainless steel braided brake hoses. Our custom braided brake lines are designed to handle high pressure while maintaining flexibility, making them a great alternative to traditional hard lines.

Many motorsport and high-performance vehicles use full braided hose setups for improved durability, resistance to expansion, and ease of installation. However, ensure that the hose routing is properly secured and protected from excessive movement or abrasion. If you're removing the ABS or completely overhauling your brake system, we can supply made to measure brake lines tailored to your setup.
