-
What are race lockwire banjo bolts used for?
Race lockwire banjo bolts are designed for hydraulic brake and clutch systems used in motorsport and other high-performance applications. The pre-drilled hex head allows the bolt to be secured with lockwire to help prevent loosening through vibration.
-
What thread sizes are available?
The Metric Race Spec single banjo bolts are available with M10 x 1.00 and M10 x 1.25 threads. Standard and extended versions are available in both thread pitches.
-
What is the difference between the standard and extended versions?
The standard versions have a 9mm thread length and measure 19mm below the hex head. The extended versions have a 12mm thread length and measure 25mm below the hex head.
-
Why do the banjo bolts have holes in the hex head?
The pre-drilled hex head allows the bolt to be secured using 0.8mm stainless steel lockwire, providing additional protection against loosening in motorsport and high-vibration applications.
-
What material are the Race Spec banjo bolts made from?
They are precision CNC machined in the UK from 303/304 stainless steel for excellent strength, durability and corrosion resistance.
-
Do I need crush washers for installation?
Yes. Two crush washers are required per bolt, with one fitted on each side of the banjo fitting to create the hydraulic seal. Copper crush washers are available separately.
-
Is lockwire included?
The bolts are supplied pre-drilled and ready for lockwiring. Lockwire is not included.
