Black Cotton Covered Stainless Steel Braided PTFE Hose

This braided PTFE hose combines a smooth-bore PTFE inner hose with stainless steel braid reinforcement and a protective black nylon-cotton outer braid. It is designed for compatible fuel, oil, coolant and hydraulic applications where a covered outer finish is preferred.

The PTFE inner provides broad chemical and temperature resistance and is suitable for the compatible fluids and gases listed in the Specifications.

Stainless Steel Reinforcement with Black Outer Braid

The stainless steel braid reinforces the PTFE hose, while the black nylon-cotton outer braid covers the stainless braid and helps protect surrounding surfaces from direct contact with the metal braid.

Internal diameter, outside diameter, minimum bend radius, pressure ratings and other technical values vary by hose size. Refer to the Specifications for the exact values for the selected hose.

Compatible PTFE Hose Fittings

This hose is designed for use with compatible PTFE braided hose fittings.

Not compatible with rubber braided hose fittings or push-lock hose fittings. Use fittings specifically designed for PTFE braided hose.

What is black cotton braided PTFE hose used for?
This hose is suitable for compatible fuel, oil, coolant and hydraulic applications. It combines a PTFE inner hose with stainless steel reinforcement and a black nylon-cotton outer braid.
What is underneath the black outer braid?
The hose has a smooth-bore PTFE inner reinforced by stainless steel braid. The black nylon-cotton braid forms an additional outer covering over the stainless steel reinforcement.
What is the difference between this hose and the exposed stainless steel braided version?
This version has an additional black nylon-cotton outer braid covering the stainless steel reinforcement. The exposed stainless steel version does not have this outer covering. The two products also have different specified minimum bend radii and weights, so refer to the individual Specifications when comparing them.
Which fittings should I use with this hose?
Use compatible braided PTFE hose fittings. Rubber braided hose fittings and push-lock hose fittings are not compatible.
Can I use this PTFE hose for petrol and ethanol fuels?
Yes. The specified compatible fluids include E5 and E10 petrol, E85, ethanol, methanol, diesel and race fuels.
What is the maximum operating pressure?
The maximum operating pressure depends on hose size: AN6 is rated to 3,000 PSI (207 bar), AN8 to 2,500 PSI (172 bar), and AN10 to 2,000 PSI (138 bar). Refer to the Specifications for the corresponding burst pressures.
What temperature range can the hose operate at?
The specified operating temperature range is -70°C to +250°C (-94°F to +482°F).
How do I choose the correct hose size?
Choose the hose size according to the flow requirements, connection sizes and routing requirements of the installation. The Specifications show the internal diameter, outside diameter, minimum bend radius and pressure rating for each available hose size.
What is the minimum bend radius?
The specified minimum bend radius is 40mm for AN6, 55mm for AN8 and 60mm for AN10. Do not route the hose more tightly than the minimum bend radius specified for the selected size.
How is the hose supplied?
The hose is available in 0.5 metre increments and can be supplied in continuous lengths up to 20 metres.
