How Do AN to Imperial Adapters Seal?

The two connections use different sealing methods. The AN/JIC connection seals on its 37° flare, while the imperial connection seals using an O-ring against the mating port. The straight imperial thread retains the adapter but is not itself the primary sealing surface.

UNF Thread Does Not Automatically Mean AN/JIC

AN/JIC fittings commonly use UNF threads, but the thread size alone does not define an AN connection. The imperial side of these adapters uses a straight UNF thread with an O-ring seal and does not use a 37° flare. Always confirm the thread size and sealing arrangement of the mating port before ordering.
